Muslim buys Great Controversy… . Last week I decided to call back on a family who previously had bought some of my books. After realizing that they weren't home, I quickly went to my car to drive off. Just as I got to my car I noticed that the neighbor had come out the front of his house and was smiling at me. I smiled back and proceeded to get into my car. I was a little confused why he kept looking at me, I got out of my car to go and talk with him and after speaking with him for awhile one of his friends came and joined us and they both shared with me that they were Muslim. I showed my books to them both and was very pleased when one of them bought a Uturn and a Great Controversy. Before I left we had a prayer together. I left with joy in my heart as I thought back on what God had just done to connect me with them, and how God works in people’s hearts! Mongrel Mobster buys books… Hawera is thrilled to have the best books for his children. Brian Brunton and I had met Hawera when we knocked on his door during outreach in Whanganui last year. He was a hefty fellow who had recently lost a few stone in weight and was planning to lose more. His aim, with the support of his wife, is to have his four children educated at university. Our books are ideal for that purpose. Hawera was brought up as a 3rd generation Mongrel Mobster and he has now broken that cycle for his children. They were open to spiritual things… . Before Elsie (Pictured below - top row left) and I went out to the doors, we prayed that God will lead us to “His children.” Thus, Elsie and I called back on houses where Elsie could not find the occupants home the previous week. We walked up the long back steps of one house and were met by Joyce. She invited us in and introduced us to her 2nd husband of 4 years. Between the two of them, they have a blended family of 8 children plus their own child aged 4-years. After ‘bridge building,’ Elsie began to present the Family Medical Care. Joyce said, “I’ve got some medical books from the same doctor.” She disappeared and returned with our older Family Medical Care, Vital Facts for Boys and Vital Facts for Girls. I asked her how long she had had the books, and did she find them useful? She told us that she bought the books about 20 years ago (possibly from Allan Patterson) and she, “had found them not only useful and interesting but they always prompted me in the best way to care for my family. Also they are very durable.” We introduced her to a “follow on” package, which she really liked and placed an order. Before leaving I felt impressed to show Joyce and her husband Dale the Today Tomorrow and You and the Family Bible. They were open to spiritual things and were impressed with how the spiritual and health blend together and asked to include the Today Tomorrow and You and the Family Bible in their package. Ellen White with heavenly foresight said “the more people who read our books the more they will want them.” This was certainly true with this family. They were open to spiritual things because they already had some of our books. We had a prayer with Joyce, Dale and their family. They are interested in watching some Bible DVDs plus doing the Bible Course. Elsie will faithfully follow them up. Did I mention that there are 13 in the family?
